If you’re looking for both a unique place to stay and a different type of tour in Luang Prabang, join us on this experience. It’s perfect for any skill level, and we can personalise the ride to suit your needs. Join us for a fun day with the horses before spending the night in our peaceful Ecolodge. 
 
We’ll begin the first day by picking you up from the NamKhan Project office in the Luang Prabang city centre. If you prefer we pick you up from your hotel, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance or when you book the experience. From there, it’s a short drive to the NamKhan Project, our 1-hectare property facing the NamKhan River.  
 
After we arrive, we’ll take you on a guided tour of our stables and introduce you to the horses that you’ll be riding. Get familiar with these animals while learning the proper grooming techniques. And don’t fret if you’re completely new to horses—we'll take a test ride through the riding area to make sure everyone understands the basics.  
 
From there, we’ll depart on our 1-hour trail ride. Depending on your skill level, you and your horse will either walk independently or on a lead with one of our equine experts. Admire the scenic Lao forest on horseback and wave hello to the locals as we stroll through the traditional Lao village of Donkeo. Donkeo is famous for its bamboo basketry workshops, and you may catch a glimpse of weavers hard at work. Afterwards, we’ll make our way back to the NamKhan Project, where you can spend the afternoon exploring our facilities.  

At night, you’ll be sleeping in one of our classic Lao-style bungalows. Your room has a private 14 sq. m balcony and is furnished with woodwork crafted by our carpentry team. It also includes a queen-size bed, ensuite bathroom with a vanity sink, rain shower, and all other necessities for a good night’s sleep. Enjoy the peaceful ambience to connect with nature and the Lao lifestyle during your stay. 
 
Start your second day off with a delicious breakfast before spending some more time in our facilities. When you’re ready to head back to the city centre, you’ll have two shuttle options: one at 2:30pm and one at 6:00pm. We’ll be sad to see you go, but we’re hopeful that you enjoyed your time at the NamKhan Project!
