Lao Coffee Culture

The Lao Coffee Culture is an annual appreciation event held to promote local coffee production, especially for women and coffee shops. During this event, various coffee companies like Saffron and Joma Bakery gather to support and promote the local coffee culture by offering a cup of coffee for only 500 kips. This is to continue the culture of offering coffee at 500 kips per cup as evidenced through the 500 Lak/Kip banknote in 1979.
