5-Day Nam Ha Jungle Trekking Expedition & Khmu Village Homestay – Luang Namtha

• Morning: ​Wake up to the sounds of the wild jungle and a warm and nourishing breakfast. Then pack up camp and continue on the trail. Still deep in the ancient forest we make steady progress over hills and valleys, shaded from the sun by the canopies of giant trees.

• Afternoon: At lunch time we find a suitable location in the forest for another Lao style jungle picnic. We then continue hiking on the trail through dense jungle. Before long the jungle becomes a rich mosaic of cultivated lands. The trail soon takes us back into the depths of the jungle and, as the day progresses, we must soon find a suitable place to set up jungle camp for the night.

• Evening: Our guides will prepare a delicious jungle style dinner. We can later relax and drink around the campfire before falling asleep to the wild sounds of nature.

• Morning: Waking up once more with the natural cycle of the jungle, we enjoy a tasty breakfast with a warm drink. At around 10:00 am we will continue back on the trail through lush forest and  crossing rugged terrain.

• Afternoon: Around midday we will stop at a picturesque location for a Lao jungle picnic lunch, before pushing on through the wild jungle landscape; crossing streams by fallen trees or stepping stones, and climbing over or under mighty trees fallen across the trail. Pushing on through the jungle we soon reach the eco-lodge located beside the Namha River. Across the river lies Nalan Tai village of the Khmu people. 

• Evening: Before dinner is served at 7:00 pm enjoy rest or take a refreshing dip in the river. After dinner our guides will build a campfire for your enjoyment. When ready head to bed in the comfort of the eco-lodge.

• Morning: Wake up to the soothing sounds of the nearby Namha river and enjoy a hearty breakfast. At around 10:00 am we head back into the jungle and join a trail that takes us deep into wild primary forest, where we have a chance of encountering some wildlife. Here, we will decide upon a suitable location for a jungle picnic lunch. 

• Afternoon: Back on the trail, we continue through a beautiful stretch of wild jungle, as the sounds of wildlife fills the air. After pushing on through lush valleys and over richly forested hills, we eventually reach an area of semi-wild cultivated lands. We cross the Namha river and reach Nalan village of the Khmu people.

• Evening: After meeting the villagers and the family hosting our homestay, take time to explore the village or relax. We will then share a delicious Lao dinner with our Khmu family hosts. After which, head to bed for an early night or share a drink and socialize with the villagers and fellow trekkers.

• Morning: ​After waking up early to the unique sounds of Khmu village life, a tasty breakfast and warm drink will be served by our ever-attentive guides. After breakfast we set off on a trail that follows the course of the serene Namha River, flanked on either side by steep, forested hills, with stunning views of rice paddies along the river valley. 

• Afternoon: At midday we stop by a picturesque location near the river for a well-earned lunch break. After which, we follow the trail as it heads away from the river and deep into the jungle. We push on over steep, densely forested hills and across lush, verdant valleys sheltered from the sun beneath the canopies of tall and mighty trees. Eventually, the forest gives way to cultivated jungle and, before long, we reach the village of Doi Luk Kham and the end of our trekking adventure.
