Overview
Visit our small village for a great learning experience with local people. Help us preserve indigenous Laotian culture for the next generation with traditional cotton weaving, hand spinning and natural dyeing. Let us show you how we make cotton accessories by hand, then you can make your own. Meet a master weaver and take a workshop to learn techniques from picking cotton to hand spinning and loom weaving. Stay with us for a taste of village life. It’s a fun, educational hands-on experience with local people. During this half day you will receive a full hands on experience on natural dyes. You will be able to choose between 3 colors to dye 3 napkins or 1 color to dye 1 scarf.
Tour Highlight
Learn how to extract natural color from materials including tree bark, wood, leaves, plants and indigo. In some cases, we will gather these items. All participants will learn the process for making colors and will dye a scarf or your cloth to keep.
