Hands down the best experience of my life. Not going to lie, the entire planning process was not the smoothest one but that's also exactly what makes the journey so worth it. I got the privilege to learn so much this entire journey. I wouldn't have wanted to spend my winter any other way. Even though our actions were small, we definitely impacted the lives of the people in Ban Lad Khammune at least. It truly is an experience that I don't expect anyone else to understand other than pk4 ourselves
To Laos 🇱🇦: Laos is truly an amazing country. I've learned so much in every aspect. Being able to volunteer in Ban Lad Khammune, Special Needs School & Big Brother Mouse has allowed me to gain so many insights into the world, especially Laos. Even the hospitality in MyLaoHome was. Thank you to Benny & Nin for always looking out for us & also all the other guides (especially Mr. Tae) that made Laos such an enriching experience for me. I will definitely go back to Laos someday.
To my co-leaders: Thank you guys for always being there for me & giving our best to make khuaam work even as we struggle with various difficulties. This journey would not have been the same without any one of you. Thankful that from pk3 to pk4, we are still constantly looking out for one another in and out of the village!! I am so proud that we have come so far & made khuaam 4 such a success!! Will definitely miss being with you guys in Laos Thanks for being such solid friends
To my fav pk4: You guys are such an amazing bunch!!! Thank you for presenting your best self but yet your vulnerable self to all of us. You guys are the true definition of a TEAM (no need to study mpw or whatever not)!! So proud of every moment you guys spend helping one another, looking out for one another, showing your vulnerability to one another. Everything was just so pure! Every single one of you has so much in you (even your noise level also a bit too much LOL). Even though I may not have gotten the chance to get personally close to all of you, I'm still really honored to have you guys on board for PK4! Every one of you contributed to pk4 in your very own ways & I wouldn't have wanted it any other way!! Pls don't be a stranger around in school & all the best to the rest of your smu life ahead (& even beyond that)!!! Thankful to have met every single one of you!! Continue doing you & don't let the society get to you!! Hold on to what you've experienced in pk4 & continue changing the world in your own ways!!
To the villagers in Ban Lad Khammune 🇱🇦: Even though it's my 2nd time staying there, your hospitality still NEVER fails to amaze me . In the short span of roughly 30 days over the 2 years, I feel like I have another place that I can call home. Every time I'm back there, I feel so safe & content even though I have no form of connection to communicate with the outside world. Even when pk4 was super underprepared for the single-digit freezing weather, you guys always cared for us - gave us warm blankets, setting up campfires to keep us warm, always helping us carry our stuff, & always checking to see if we're feeling cold. Everyone in the village is just so pure-hearted & always treating us foreigners as their own family. I hope you guys make good use of the 2 water filtration systems forever!! Also, thank you for showing me how simple happiness can be time and time again, making all my worries and problems feel so small. I will definitely miss everyone so much & really hope to be able to go back to the village one day even though its 5h boat ride away from the city :")
To my fav kid Khun Giao: You truly are an amazing kid with a super-pure heart (i can't say that enough). You have so little to offer but yet, always giving without having 2nd thoughts. Thank you for being my best pal in the village & constantly looking out for me even though we don't understand much of what each other is saying. For always making sure that I eat my meals with my friends, making sure that my things are clean & not sandy, making sure that I felt warm, making sure that I have tissue while I'm sobbing. Thank you for always being by my side when I get emotional during the trip. Really wish that there were some way for me to keep in contact with you. Indeed, bidding farewell this time was even harder when you were around. What's worse was that you cried too HELPZ really broke my heart. Even when you were crying, you were still looking out for me. I can't thank you enough but you really showed me what love is. I hope you will grow up to be a bright girl because you're really smart!! Hope to be able to see you again in the future!! You'll always have a special place in my heart
