Overview
Learn to make handicrafts from an ethnic artisan! TAEC offers half-day workshops where groups of 2 – 12 people can learn how to do Kmhmu basketry, and take home their special creations. The workshops are taught by local Kmhmu artists, with a TAEC guide to translate and provide background on the craft and people. These half-day activities also include a 30-minute exhibition tour as well as an ethnic food lunch in TAEC Café.
Tour Highlight
The Khmu Bamboo Weaving Class is a unique and immersive experience that allows participants to learn the traditional art of bamboo weaving from the Khmu ethnic group. In this class, participants will have the opportunity to learn the various steps involved in bamboo weaving, from selecting the right bamboo to creating beautiful and functional products such as baskets, mats, and decorative items. The class is led by skilled Khmu artisans who will share their knowledge and expertise, teaching participants the traditional weaving techniques passed down through generations.
